Today I went to the University of South Florida's Botanical Gardens. They had this awesome Orchid Room. These are three different types of Orchids that I took pictures of while visiting.

This huge tree is in my parent's yard. I have no idea what kind it is..but it's got to be in the pine tree family. Does this count as a botanical??? LOL

Today I set out to take some more photos of botanicals in my yard. The second photo is another azalea... I have so many different types of azaleas I can't keep track!

The first photo.. I have no idea what it's called.. I call it a holly berry tree. Reminds me of Christmas Holly. I'm sure that's not the actual name of this plant. Anyone know?

Botanicals... a flower from my parent's yard.

Had a really really rough day today. My dad had catarac surgery, my mom fell and really bumped her head causing a gash in her forehead. She' ok.. but I'm really worried about her. I knew one day the time would come when I'd start worrying about my parents getting older... that day came today.

Azaleas are blooming in my yard... I love my azaleas and my gardenias but sadly the gardenias don't bloom until around April.

Feb 1st!

Today's photo was not actually taken today. I took it two days ago with the swing photo. Just got around to editing them and wanted to share this one today. This is the crape myrtle tree in my front yard. I love when this tree is in full bloom.

Our weather today has been really odd. Very Very Windy and off and on rain today. So, I didn't get out with the camera.

Monday 1/15

Went for a walk today in my neighborhood. This rose was hanging from my neighbors rose bush. She has one of those lattice things that the rose bush grows through and around. Not such a great photo.. but I did play around with my AP and ISO.
Settings are: Manual ISO 400 AP 4.8 and SS 1/45. I used Marie's Color Rock action and sharpened for web.
Thanks for looking,

My Azaleas

I didn't feel very good today, so I didn't get to venture out of my yard as I had hoped. Tomorrow I'm going to get in the car and find a new place to take photos! So, here's my photo for today. I can't believe I didn't check my ISO before I took these. I had the camera set at 1600 ISO!! UGH!!!!

Thanks for looking... I promise something more exciting tomorrow!
